Welcome to Standing 4 Him. I am just someone who loves the Lord, and wanting to share with others God’s love for them. It is my prayer that as I share my writings you will come into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. This site is for those searching, the new believer, and the seasoned Christian. Through God’s help, I hope to equip you to share your faith with others. I will be sharing on many subjects, but my passion is Prophecy and Eschatology (end times study). May God bless you.

I believe in one God represented in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
Concerning the Trinity
Matthew 3:16-17 "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
We see here the three members of the Trinity present at the baptism of Jesus. Clearly there are three distinct persons forming one God. It is like when you look at an apple. You have three parts to the apple (skin, flesh, and seed), but it is still one apple.
Concerning the Father
He lives in heaven: Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
He is our Father: Matthew 6:9 “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.”
He is Holy: John 17:11 “And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.”
He cares for us: Matthew 6:8 “Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.”
He loves us: 1 John 3:1 “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore, the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.”
Many other attributes of the Father can be found in the Holy Bible
Our Father is all knowing, and all seeing. He cares and supplies our every need.
Concerning Jesus
Always existed: John 1:1-2,14 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.”
From the tribe of Judah root of David: Revelation 5:5 “And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.”
Born in Bethlehem: Micah 5:2 “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” Matthew 2: 1-6 “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, art not the least among the princes of Judah: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.”
Born of a virgin: Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
Sinless life: 2 Corinthians 5:21 “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
Lamb of God: John 1:29 “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”
Crucified and died: Matthew 26:2 “Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.” Matthew 27:35 “And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots” Matthew 27:50 “Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.”
Hung between two thieves: Matthew 27:38 “Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.”
Buried: Luke 23:53 “And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulcher that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.”
Rose on the third day: Luke 24:46 And said unto them, “Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:”
Ascended into heaven: Luke 24:51 “And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.”
Will come again: Act 1:9-11 “And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” Revelation 22:7 “Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the saying of the prophecy of this book.”
Set up His kingdom on earth: Revelation 21:2-3 “And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.”
The Only Way to the Father: John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was in the beginning. He had no beginning and He will have no end. And the word became flesh and dwelt among us. Jesus stripped Himself of all His power, came down from heaven, and took on the human flesh to dwell among us. He was born of a virgin in a lowly stable. A manger was His bed. He grew and about the age of 30 began His public ministry. He walked and taught among us. Jesus was sinless but chose to become sin for us. He was crucified between two thieves and died a criminal’s death. Jesus was buried in a rich man’s tomb. He descended into hell and took the keys from satan. Three days later Jesus rose from the grave and was seen first by the women that came to the tomb, the apostles and others. Forty days later He ascended into heaven where He is now seated at the right hand of the Father. We also believe that Jesus will come again to rule and reign and set up His Kingdom here on earth. Jesus is the only way to the Father.
Concerning the Holy Spirit
He is our comfort: John 14:16 “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;”
Our teacher: John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
Spirit of Truth and He dwells in us: John 14:17 “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”
Given to us: Luke 11:13 “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" Galatians 4:6 “And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.” Romans 8:10-13 “And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”
The Holy Spirit was sent to us to help guide us into all truths and the knowledge of Jesus Christ. The Spirit gives us new life in Jesus Christ.
Concerning the Bible
2 Timothy 3:15-17 “And that from a child thou hast known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
The Bible is the inspired word of God written by holy men of God as the Spirit moved. The Bible contains instruction for salvation and how to achieve a relationship with God. It also contains direction, guidance, and instruction for our day-to-day living.
Concerning Salvation
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”
Romans 10:10 “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Ephesians 1:13 “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,”
1 Peter 1:5 “Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
Philippians 2:12 “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”
James 2:14-21 “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?”
Salvation is a free gift through faith alone in Jesus Christ. There is nothing you can do to earn this gift - it is free to all who accept it by faith. However it is at the point of salvation that our faith is put to the test. We show our faith by the works we do. We do not preform works in order to receive the gift, but our works reflect our faith. Note it also says we are to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. You must know in your heart and confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord. It is important to also remember actions speak louder than words.
Concerning forgiveness of sin
1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
Romans 3:23-25 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;”
Hebrews 9:22 “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”
Romans 4:7-8 "Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin."
Forgiveness of sin is only is granted through faith in the spotless shed blood of Jesus Christ. Without the shedding of blood there can be no remission of sin.
Concerning Baptism
Matthew 3:11 “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:”
Matthew 3:16 “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:”
Romans 6:4 “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
Mark 16:16-17 “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;”
Act 10:44-47 “While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?”
Luke 23:40-43 “But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.”
There are three types of baptism as we can clearly see in these verses. The first baptism is administered by the Holy Spirit. Immediately when we accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour the Spirit baptizes us into Jesus death, burial and resurrection. The believer once he/she acknowledges Jesus as their Lord and Saviour should seek Water Baptism. Water Baptism is done by full emersion. It is an outward confession of what has happened on the inside. Baptism is identifying yourself publicly with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The third baptism a believer should seek is Baptism of the Spirit. This is baptism is administered by Jesus and was first received on the day of Pentecost.
It should also be noted that Water Baptism does not save, as evident by the thief on the cross. There is no possible way he would have been baptized in water. There is also no evidence that he was baptized by the Spirit as Pentecost happened after Jesus ascended to the Father.
Concerning God’s Elect
Isaiah 45:4 “For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.”
Isaiah 65:9 “And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.”
Colossians 3:12 “Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;”
1 Peter 1:2 “Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.”
Galatians 3:29 “And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
God has two elect. Israel is the bride of God, while the church is the bride of Christ. Although we can compare the church to Israel, we must never think the church has replaced Israel. We are grafted into the promises of Abraham because we choose to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. Remember salvation came to the Jews first and Christianity’s roots are Jewish as the first Christians were Jews. Any teachings concerning the church replacing the Jews must be rejected. The Jews are God’s chosen people forever and we are grafted into the root because of them.
Concerning the Dead
2 Corinthians 5:8 “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”
Luke 16:19-26 “There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.”
Revelation 20:4-6 “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ and shall reign with him a thousand years.”
Revelation 20:11-15 “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire”.
When we die, if we are a believer in Christ, our spirit immediately goes to be with the Lord. Upon resurrection the believers will be raised to eternal life and the nonbelievers to eternal punishment. There is no possible way to communicate with the dead as we see in the scriptures.
Concerning the Church
1 Peter 2:4-5 “To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 12:12-14 “For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also, is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many."
The church is not a physical building but is the physical body of Christ on earth. It does not matter where we meet, what matters is that we come together in unity. Jesus said, “where 2 or 3 are gathered together in My name there I Am in the midist of them”.
